How to define a self weight load in Solve & Scan?

Is it automatically applied by checking the "Gravity (-Z)" check box, or do I need manually to set it, by applying a Pressure load for example, with a certain amount of Pascals characteristic for that material?

Hello djordje,

Self weight is handled automatically with the Gravity checkbox and the material you choose.

If your gravitational direction is different from -Z, you can apply a body load and choose the direction explicitly in the Body Load Creator dialog.  Note: The acceleration you specify in the Body Load Creator dialog should be opposite your gravitational direction.  (Intuitively, it is as if you are using the restraints to apply the specified acceleration to the object.)

I think the -z axis will always be gravitational axis in my projects.

So as far from now, three load cases (if we can call them like that) can be applied to a Rhino:

- self weight - "Gravity (-z)" check box

- variable (outer load)

- both of previous two at the same time.

?
