Scan-and-Solve for Rhino

Simulate Early, Simulate Often... In Rhino

I donť know, if  i'm alone with this problem:

makong a bake with defected solution isn't problem, but when i could save my work, whole Rhino was crashed and my model was dead. The only solution was deleting this mesh and purge model.

One experience: when i tried to do something with this Mesh, i found, that it has more than 10000 edges, which is a limit for work in Rhino. Maybe some simplification of this mesh could be beneficial.

Lubos,

I did a quick verification of the mesh being output by the [Bake] button, and didn't find any obvious problems.  I did notice and fix a problem with updating the bounding box for the deflected mesh.  The fix will be in the next release.

With regard to outputting a coarser mesh, this will require additional work -not a lot, but enough that we will have to put it on the wish list for the moment.

I'm curious about your use of the baked mesh.  What are you using it for?

Thanks,

Michael

Thanks for reply, i thing, that there was some problem inside my software, now everythinh seems to be right ...

Here is one of results with "Bake". This shape is a stiffener, which is inside a footpocket of our monofin (we are the producer of monofins, it's rather our hobby than serious business, you can see here: http://www.tropol.cz/ts_index.php). I tried to load my model and explore different "relieving" of this stiffener.

I have one more question - if i could use two (or more) materials in one calculation with SnS, is it possible?

Lubos,

At the moment, analysis is limited to one material and one solid at a time.  However, analysis using multiple materials is a high priority on the wish list.

Michael,

do you have an idea, when the SnS will be able to work with multiple material? I believe, that this can make it more attractive than it's now :). I'm not try to be impatient, this is "only" a question.

Thanks.

Lubos,

Multiple materials will not make it into Version 1.0, but may be in a WIP of Version 1.0 some (many) months after the V1.0 release.

I wish I could be more specific, but an unknown (at this time) amount of design effort will be required to add this highly-requested functionality.

~Michael
