Scan&Solve for Rhino: now with torques and body loads

The latest build of Scan&Solve™ for Rhino edges us closer to the final form for Version 1.0, tentatively scheduled for release on March 1, 2011.  This build includes several user-requested load types while retaining the familiar interface that has made Scan&Solve so easy to use.  Download the latest build here.

New load types in this build include:

  • Torque around any axis
  • Centrifugal force
  • Angular acceleration
  • Arbitrary linear acceleration

To use these new load types, the usual routine applies.  In Rhino, simply:

  1. Select the material (standard or custom)
  2. Apply the restraints
  3. Apply the loads:
    1. Select Body at the command line for body loads, OR
    2. Select faces to load and specify torque
  4. Click Go!
  5. View the results

View a video highlighting the application of torque loads at this link. We've posted another video demonstrating basic application of rotational body loads here.
