Why dos'nt SNS regard a sphere as a solid

Hi Rob,
Internally, the Scan&Solve selection filter is CRhinoGetObject::polysrf_object which requires the selected geometry to have two or more faces. An additional filter enforces solidity in the selected B-rep.

You can get around this by splitting the face of the sphere using the "split" command and then using the menu sequence: Solid>Create Solid to join the pieces back together into a solid sphere with two faces and one edge.

What sort of boundary conditions do you envision for your sphere?
