I thought I would test the ability of scan& Solve on a simple object.
A spring with a lower mass of steel and the same mass on top. I am amazed. If you toggle (and that would be a good feature) the deflected shape, you will notice that spring leans a bit to one side, This occurs as the spring is not uniform but a spiral, and that side has less stiffness. Perfectly solved - Well done, s&s Test.3dm
John, thank you very much for posting this example and for sharing the file. I downloaded and played with it a bit -- very fun! I also used to demonstrate couple of features in the software.
First, I made a short video showing how you can visualize the spring deformation -- either by toggling the deflected view or using slider in the advanced view. Here is the link to the video http://www.scan-and-solve.com/video/spring-deformation
Secondly, there is a Report button in the View tab of latest version of Scan&Solve, which generates a convenient summary of the simulation. I used this feature to generate the following report for your spring example. I will try to post the report in a separate reply, but here is the link http://www.intact-solutions.com/sns_solved/report_0000/SnS_Report.html
