Simulate Early, Simulate Often... In Rhino

Goodday

Just testing various sections under load and studying the report. The report is quiet comprehensive and for the non engineer like myself , which is the definative result ( min requirment) which i can go to inorder to see that the section will pass or fail.

I,m thinking its the Danger level (von mises) and the Danger level (max.shear stress ) , where the result is either a positive number or states "criteria exceeded"

Am i correct in thinking this?

Thanks

Rob

As described in the bottom of  this page,  the danger level is the ratio:   (computed value)/(allowable value) of some failure  criterion quantity.   When the ratio is greater than 1, the material is expected to fail.        The specific criterion and the mode of failure depend on the type of material (ductile, brittle, etc.)    Here is the link to the summary.
