Gooday , please can you explain how to measure the amount of deflection (in a beam for instance) in metric units . I can see the beam deflected , but by how much?

Rob,
Switch to [Advanced] in the View tab. Select [Total Displacement] in the component combo box. The color scale for the total displacement ranges from minimum displacement (approximately zero) to the maximum displacement.

Simply read the maximum displacement from the end of the scale.
