Scan-and-Solve for Rhino

Simulate Early, Simulate Often... In Rhino

Hi, I'm not getting the same materials in Fusion as i see in ordinary SNS.

I tried editing the materials text files, in both scan solve folder and fusion folder. Still i don't see the custom materials in those text files any of those.

How can i make custom material in Fusion? I' would really love to do that.

Fusion is a great improvement!

It's working well. Only wish is higher resolution, preferably double of what is available now.

Best regards,

Fredrik

Hello Fredrik,

There are 3 material files:

  1. C:\Program Files\Scan&Solve\materials.txt
  2. C:\Program Files\Scan&Solve Fusion\materials.txt
  3. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Scan&Solve\materials.txt

The current version (version 2015.3.25.0) uses materials.txt from the installation folder of Scan&Solve 2014 (#1 above).  This is an implementation oversight that will be corrected in the next release.

To use your existing Scan&Solve 2014 materials in SnSFusion, copy materials.txt from the appdata folder (#3 above) to the installation folder for Scan&Solve 2014 (#1 above).

Hopefully this helps.

~Michael

P.S.  In the future, SnSFusion (or whatever we end up calling it) and Scan&Solve 2014 will both use the material database stored in the appdata location (location #3).  Both plug-ins will also contain a material editor that will modify this material file.
