Scan-and-Solve for Rhino

Simulate Early, Simulate Often... In Rhino

Hello All;

I did some test analyses with Scan&Solve for primitive geometries such as prisms and cubes. However, I was not able to select curvilinear geometries such as spheres, ellipsoids and also “free-form” solids modelled in Rhino. I would appreciate any suggestions to deal with the problem.

Thank you

Sevil,  can you please be more specific?   What do you mean by "not able to select"?   When you start SnS,  you are asked to select a solid;  if it is not a solid, then you will not be able to select  the geometry.  See documentation.  The loads and restraints are applied to faces;  a sphere has a single face, and if you want to select a portion of a sphere, then you need to partition it into smaller faces.   Hope this helps ... or ask again please.

Thanks, it helped! The geometry has to be 'solid', but also made out of  'polysurfaces'.
